I had thought I'd only be doing Polly, but now one of the Second Doctor's other companions, Zoe, is joining the Mod-Barbie Clothes Doctor Who Club! Zoe's wearing 'The Short Set' from 1972. It's later than her era on the show, but the shape and length of it looked so much like the super short get up Zoe wore in The Space Pirate, I had to use it!

Polly and Red White n Warm
Zoe and The Short Set
Ace in Rappin' Rockin' Barbie
Tegan in 'In and Outfitted'
Mel in 'Dance Club Kayla'
Jo in 'Bubbles n Boots'

This is one of the best companions. (It has nothing to do with the sparkly jumpsuit.... maybe a little.)

To be fair Zoe is from the Future, so it doesn't matter if her clothes aren't from her TV appearances

Yes, but the idea of the series is to feature contemporary-with-the-show Barbie fashions. Zoe might have been from the future, but her look was really 60's.

I know, and I admit the show makes me wonder if our children will find sparkly cat-suits fashionable

Zoe would look cute in a potato sack. :)

I like Zoe! She's proof that a girl does not have to play dumb in order to get they boy's to like her.

When me and my girlfriend have our daugher we will bring her up on the likes of this kind of girl as they are good role models for them.

In my view the main reason for the lower standerds in young people is due to the rule models that many of them have!!!!

I don't want to sound like a grumpy old man, but as far as I'm consurned it's better to bring your kids up on idelsed fictional role models rather than real life ones as they can't do any wrong (unless they are antiheroes)

Doctor Who girls, women from 1930's plup mags and films and even some of the better James Bond girls are far better role models for young girls to look up too than some drug taking bimboish pop star!

They can still look up to their elders in their familes, but that (sadly) differs from case to case.

I for one always prefered retro fiction to real life as (in most cases) the goodies in it are always heroes and the baddies in it are always scumbags who get justly punshmented.

Although I am a Christan and therefore believe that God will one day set everything right (ie goodies in Heaven baddies in Hell) to a child (and some adults) things are not seen in that way. That is way it is better to try and only let your kids see things where the good guys win until they are old enougth to understand otherwise.

Those are just my views as that was how I was brought up as a child and in my view I think I turned out fine
