I feel guilty that I don't have a lot to submit lately. I have been focusing on improving my environment, mostly. Throwing out things, cleaning things, reorganzing (or organizing in the first place), and trying to pay attention to what actually works for me versus what's expected to work for me. My office shut down thanks to Coronavirus back in March and hasn't re-opened. In a way, it's been liberating, because - and I can't stress this enough - I Hate My Job. I loathe everything about it, from the toxic people to the horribly institution it is part of. When I got here, it was the only thing paying even remotely a living wage and was the only place that ever got back to me. I'm honestly so much happier on unemployment. Anyway, things I AM doing are working on the rewrite/rework of ISH, for the, what, ten of you who will know/care about that. I'm posting daily-ish updates on my tumblr. It's been like 800 years since I've made a real dA Journal Post, but here we are, I guess.
Anyway, it's been slightly less than 800 years since I've uploaded anything here because I've been bleeding into my retina since March! :D So I have to get an injection in the eye every month to reverse the giant gray blob it has formed in the center of my vision in my left eye and it uh, made making shit somewhat Difficult, as you might imagine. Depth perception is a little janky, which has made traditional work more challenging. I've also been doing a giant photo restoration job for my grandmother. I've meant to comment on every single chapter, but I've just been too busy and tired. I also kinda feel like I'm repeating myself, you know, going YAY DIB and WOW EDGAR IS A REAL BOY every time you upload. Heh.
Man, I'm still so impressed by how you write Johnny... and everyone else, too, but especially Johnny. You just... have him. The way he moves and walks and talks is just so him, it's scary. If Jhonen Vasquez was a girl and into fanfiction... that's a weird thought, I'll just stop there.
Oh, I loved this chapter, yay, we're getting new stuff! I really love the gang's interaction and also the blood thing and how Edgar reacts to it, kinda like "well, blood sacrifice, no biggie, I'll just joke about it."
I'm sorry I'm repeating myself, but I do really love how you've made Edgar so much stronger. Because actually, him being so shy and scared and awkward in a lot of fics is mostly (I think so) because of Vargas, I feel like that fic kinda dictated how the fanbase sees Edgar. In the comics, he's actually very talkative, confident(!) and apparently easy to be around, has good social skills, he manages to get along with Johnny for god's sake. Also the "FUCK FEAR" line tells a lot about him, I think.
But yeah, I'm ramblinnnggg. And I really need to go to sleep.
